This image is one of the highlights from my photoshoot with Lola FLASH, part of their self-portrait series exploring the straight line configurations of our pasts, presents, and futures. Each photograph in the series is a multi-dimensional reflection, grappling with intersectional disadvantages, cultural conflict, and the weight of inherited legacies. Lola’s vision invites us into a space of both reckoning and reimagining, where Black bodies are no longer confined by institutional isms but instead leap from planet to planet, searching for freedom, joy, and new possibilities.
